[post_content] => Presented by Goulburn Community Garden and Goulburn Region Permaculture.
Goulburn has a cool temperate climate, which means we have shorter warm growing seasons coupled with early autumn and late spring frosts. This can make it tricky to grow summer crops that love the heat but dislike the cold. However, with a limited amount of space and equipment, we can germinate seeds indoors ahead of spring to give our seedlings a head start and make the most of our shorter growing seasons. This workshop will cover the basics of using a mini-greenhouse and heat mat to germinate seeds indoors as well as how to care for the seedlings in preparation for spring planting. This method can also be used to germinate winter crops to further extend the summer growing season, as well as flowers which are a beautiful and useful addition to any garden!
The workshop will be held at the Wesley Centre on Goldsmith Street, next to the Goulburn Community Garden. Afterwards, you're invited to join us for a cuppa and a chat with some of our experienced local gardeners. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and learn from the local growing community.
No need to book. A gold coin donation will help us cover costs.
