[post_content] => Set at the height of Covid in 2021, this modern spin on Gilbert and Sullivan's beloved operetta is sure to thrill audiences both young and old.

The pirate apprentice, Frederic, has come of age and is released from his indenture to a tender-hearted band of tech pirates. Meeting the beautiful daughter of the Major-General, Mabel, he realises his life as a tech pirate has been quite sheltered. So ensues a hilarious comedy full of rowdy tunes, laugh-out-loud moments, and tender declarations of love.

This new spin on The Pirates of Penzance features all the traditional songs of the operetta, including Modern Major-General, Poor Wandering One, and I Am A Pirate King, with amended dialogue that will have you reminiscing about the lighter side of the Covid era. Brought to life by Goulburn's Rocky Hill Musical Theatre Company, The Pirates of Penzance 2021has been rewritten and directed by the exceptional Debra McConnell and features a wonderful cast of local Goulburn talent.

Come along for a night of laughter, rowdy tunes, and good old-fashioned musical theatre fun.
