Alaine Cohen finds much inspiration in nature and has been exploring and enjoying colouring and patterning metal and making jewellery for many years. She also makes jewellery from wire threads using bobbin lace techniques. She likes to experiment with combining traditional jewellery techniques with wire lace jewellery, sometimes incorporating semi-precious beads. This exhibition includes items using sterling silver, brass, heat treated titanium and copper, and colour coated copper wire. She likes to begin with a basic plan but loves to stay open to being led in different directions by the materials and processes. There is great fun in being surprised. Rowena Jenkins draws on her travels capturing the essence of place as well as colours and patterns in the landscape. Enjoying the tactile nature of wool and other fibres she enjoys creating 3D felted forms and felt paintings. Embroidery and free machine embroidery are also part of her textile experience and creative process. Bringing forth into a tangible form requires a trust in the process and a willingness to keep moving forward; a sometimes challenging yet valuable and enriching experience. Suzie Duncan has a lifelong love of animals and the natural environment. Her artworks aim to capture the unique character and beauty she sees in the world and to share that with the viewer. Predominantly working in watercolour, with some pen and ink, she at times works with a degree of detail and when desirable uses a freer approach. The works presented in this exhibition are a variety of subject matter, with a view to offer each visitor something that speaks of the harmony we can have with nature. Enjoy! The exhibition is open during Gallery on Track opening hours.
