The Winter edition of The Window has been curated by Paul Scott-Williams, CEO and Artistic Director of Hume Conservatorium. Selecting Jason Benjamin's exquisite work, 'The Calling' 2019, Paul writes... 'As I observed the work I was drawn into its mystery and contrasts. On the surface, I recognise an Australian landscape not unlike that in which I grew up. But deeper observation reveals a harshness and sense of desolation that is confronting, particularly in the context of the deep drought and horrific fires we have recently endured. Nothing moves. Is there shimmering heat or icy cold mist in the air? ' Read more upon viewing the work in situ in our Window. Scott-Williams has an extensive background as a performer, arts educator, arts advocate and is a qualified Counsellor. He grew up in the NSW regional town of Boorowa and moved to Sydney and studied classical voice, piano and music education at the State Conservatorium of Music. After completion of his studies, he moved to London on a scholarship at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Scott-Williams is currently the Deputy Chair of Regional Arts, NSW, Vice President of the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums and serves on the Create NSW Contemporary Music Assessment Board. We're thrilled to welcome him in to our spaces. Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm Sat 12pm – 4pm Closed Sun and Public Holidays
