Join the Picnic Train team for an exciting journey through to the Goulburn Steampunk Victoriana Fair aboard the heritage train hauled by the recently restored Victorian Railways locomotive R766. The Picnic Train will ruin on Saturday the 19th October only.
There is only 1 return trip on the day available for purchase departing Sydney Central at 7.00am and arriving and Goulburn Station at 12.20pm. The train will then depart at 2.50pm and arrive back at Sydney Central Station at 8.00pm.
Private Compartment — $600 per group
Enjoy the benefit of an entire compartment to yourselves in a heritage 'S' type — great for families and social groups! One booking is good for up to a maximum of eight (8) people, including children. Compartments are fitted with tables.
Four Seater Booth — $390 per group
Spacious four seat booth with table in a 'N' type classic heritage saloon carriage. Booths are fitted with tables.
Group of 4 Seating - Air Conditioned Lounge Car — $390 per group
Four seats together in an Air Conditioned Car.
Full Carriage or Full Train Hire — Call for Quote
Please Note: All fares are for same-day return travel.
Buffet Car: A limited buffet service will be available on this train. In the spirit of The Picnic Train, we encourage passengers to bring their own picnic hampers. BYO alcohol is allowed, however, large eskys are not permitted.
Babies and Toddlers: Babies in arms and small toddlers not requiring a booked seat may be brought along at no additional cost.
Prams, wheelchairs and walkers: Due to space restrictions and for the safety of all aboard, large prams and mobility equipment cannot be taken aboard the train. You may bring a small collapsible pram that can be stored in overhead luggage racks. The pram must be collapsed and ready to bring aboard when the train arrives at the platform. If in doubt please call us for further information.
Toilets are available in most carriages. These will be locked while in metropolitan areas.
Mobile Phones: There are no charging points on the heritage carriages. It is recommended that you bring an external battery charger for your mobile devices.
If your catching the Picnic Train to attend the Steampunk Victoriana Fair please make sure you purchase your the Steampunk x Train ticket so your bus transfers to and from the event are included, also available on the booking link.
