A group of international runners (8 runners from Australia, Cananda, Poland, Germany & Ukraine) and support crew will be participating in a Charity Run from Sydney to Melbourne called the LIONS Charity Run (LCR). The LCR will culminate with the opening ceremony of the 2024 Lions International Convention in Melbourne 21 June 2024.

The runners will arrive in Goulburn on Saturday 16 June 2024 and make their way along the Wollondilly River Walkways, beginning at Marsden Weir, before arriving in Belmore Park at 3pm. They will then stay overnight and leave for Canberra from The Big Merino on Monday 17 June 2024 at 8.00am.

The Lions Club of Goulburn City along with the Lions District 201N2 will host a Reception and Welcome on the completion of their run through Goulburn in Belmore Park at 3pm. Members of the public will be able to gather and wish the runners well on their journey with any donations welcomed.

The aim is to raise $20,000 for the following 2 children’s charity projects:
Cambodian Orphanage Project and an Australian Lions project – The Marri Mittigar School Community hosted by Barker College in Sydney to support refugee children and socially disadvantaged children that have been impacted by international conflict.
