DESCRIPTION:The Goulburn Model Expo has been organised by the Georges River Model Railway Club to be held at the Veolia Arena (Goulburn Recreation Area) in Goulburn. The Expo is being held to help promote the hobbies of model railways and plastic kit modelling\, helping foster healthy alternatives for the development of our young people. There will be over 70 trade stands and exhibitors across 2 halls at the Veolia Arena displaying model railway layouts and a myriad of plastic models on display. \nThese vendors will carry everything from basic starter sets for a new modeller\, modelling tools and paints\, through to highly detailed models and accessories for skilled modellers\, and all exhibitors are only too happy to answer any questions that you may have. There will also be a number of clinics where people can observe and learn how to use the modelling skills and methods being shown. There will also be a Community BBQ on offer over the weekend with all proceeds going directly to charity. \nA special heritage train\, The Southern Highlands Express\, has been organised to do a return journey on the Sunday from Central Station to the event and then back on that afternoon. \nEvent facilities have off and on-street parking\, disabled access and a ramp.

SUMMARY:Alexander Yau Piano concert
DESCRIPTION:Alexander Yau\, an eminent young Australian pianist\, has developed himself as a complete musician incorporating his many musical talents as a chamber musician\, conductor and composer. Pianist Balazs Szokolay describes “his artistic taste is good enough not to make any kind of ‘show’ even in the most brilliant parts of great masterworks”. \nHis major concerto appearances as soloist include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra\, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the SBS Youth Orchestra in Rachmaninoff’s first three Concertos\, Sydney Conservatorium Orchestra in Brahms’ Piano Concerto no. 2\, as well as various orchestras in Europe such as the Festival Orchestra Sinfonica “Duchi d’Acquaviva” and Budweis Philharmonic Orchestra. He has given solo and chamber performances in festivals around the US\, Italy\, German\, Norway\, Japan\, China and Australia. In 2022 he released his first album with ABC Classics in collaboration with clarinettist Deborah de Graff. He was a prize winner at numerous competitions such as the Hastings International Piano Competition\, Teresa Carreno International Masters Piano Competition and many others. Alexander obtained his Masters degree at the Juilliard School studying with prof. Matti Raekallio.

DESCRIPTION:Step back in time to the 1880’s when Goulburn was one of the first regional centres to supply piped drinking water to its residents. The Goulburn Historic Waterworks has remained intact with a pumphouse and working steam beam engine. It is located in an idyllic setting on the banks of the Wollondilly River.  \nThis rare facility is the only complete\, steam-powered municipal water supply left in its original location in the Southern Hemisphere. The buildings and engines are of national significance and are now protected by a permanent conservation order. \nThe Institution of Mechanical Engineers are presenting the Engineering Heritage Award to the amazing staff and volunteers for all the ongoing work and care that goes into the operation of the magnificent Appleby Bros Beam Engine on show at the Goulburn Historic Waterworks. \nCome and witness the spectacle of these magnificent pieces of machinery in operation for the Steampunk Victoriana Fair 2023. \nTake a tour of the Pumphouse Museum and historic Waterworks. DESCRIPTION:One Raceway will host the opening round of the NSW Supersprint Championship and NSW Club Supersprint Series for 2026. \nSupersprinting is a track driving competition in which competitors aim to set the fastest-possibe lap time. It is an ideal way of developing track driving skills in a much safer environment than door-to-door motor racing. Cars are allocated into classes to ensure vehicles are competing against others with similar mechanical specifications and performance levels.. DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Goulburn Great Divide Cycling Event is road race commencing at the church in Breadalbane and race towards Gunning\, then turn around and back again the same way. The rolling countryside and excellent road conditions offer some challenges\, with only a few hills. \nThis road is also used for the Goulburn Interclub race\, Southern Division race and the annual Goulburn Junior 2 Day Tour and is be used for the NSW State Championships for NSW Elites\, Under 23\, Under 19 & Masters for Individual Time Trial and Road races in the 2026 Great Divide Event. \nSaturday 29th will see the Individual Time Trial where all riders compete individually against the clock and Sunday 30th will be the road races with 16 separate races.

The Victorian Georgian-style Pumphouse Museum will be open and steaming all day\, with experienced tour guides on hand to talk with you about the magnificent stationary steam engines\, the 1883 Appleby Beam Engine and the 1866 Hick Hargreaves Horizontal Engine. Both are operated by a wood-fired 1960 Spencer Hopwood Cross tube vertical boiler.
