Participants in One Raceway ride days are required to have an approved motorcycle helmet\, and full leathers.

DESCRIPTION:1R/Fifth Gear Skid Pan events allow you to explore your vehicle’s handling characteristics in a safe\, controlled environment. \nAt a 1R/Fifth Gear Skid Pan event\, you will learn:\nHow to slide your car on a low-grip surface\nThe difference between understeer and oversteer\, and how to correct each type of skid.\nExperiencing your vehicle’s active safety systems\, such as ABS and stability control\, and understanding how they work to enable you to maintain control.\nOther advanced car control techniques to enable you to improve your skills.\n1R/Fifth Gear Skid Pan events are held on One Raceway’s 9\,100 square metre concrete skid pan\, complete with a sprinkler system to keep the surface wet and allow you to slide your vehicle at low speeds. \nEntries for 1R/Fifth Gear Skid Pan events are capped at a maximum of 16 cars\, allowing all participants ample time on the skid pan. \nSkid Pan events – key information\nRear-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended (but not essential) for Skid Pan events.\nVehicles must comply with a noise limit of 95dB at 30 metres.\nDrivers must be a minimum of 14 years of age\, but are not required to hold a current driver’s licence.\nPassengers for Skid Pan events are permitted after the driver has done two sessions on the skid pan; instructors will also be on hand at the event to sit in the passengers’ seats of participants’ vehicles.\nThe fee for a 1R/Fifth Gear Skid Pan event is $249.00 for approximately 3.5 hours. \n‍
