Julie Monro-Allison is a visual artist living on Ngunnawal country. Working with textiles, installation and drawing, her practice investigates biological entanglement and relationships between organisms and the spaces they inhabit.
During the second lockdown her studio was a small pallet under the pear tree in her backyard. Working outside she became accustomed to the movements of the other creatures around her: chickens, a human child, ants, moths, birds, spiders. These works reflect on home and habitat, obligations to others, and the ways in which different organisms shape their environments as their cycles of life unfold.
Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm
Sat 12pm – 4pm
Closed Sun and Public Holidays
