With a population that is living longer and more healthily than ever before, the challenge is how to manage those increasing years of old age in ways that suit each person. Join us in the Library for a FREE author talk with Dr Anne Ring, as she discusses this challenge in her book, Engaging with ageing: what matters as we grow older – a practical and balanced handbook dealing with the main aspects of ageing facing both women and men.

About the author:
Dr. Anne Ring is an 80-year-old health sociologist who also has degrees in psychology and anthropology, and whose understanding of ageing matters comes from extensive experience both professionally and personally. Her PhD thesis in health sociology looked at 50 years of health, body image, and ageing issues as they were presented in popular media, and since then she's continued writing extensively and being "old and happy about it".
