DESCRIPTION:The Goulburn Art Award began in 1992 and is held every two years. It is open to artists living within a 120km radius of Goulburn working in any medium. The Award represents the talent and diversity of artists working within the region. The Gallery encourages submissions from artists at all stages of their careers. \nAward Categories:\nGoulburn Art Award Winner: $12\,000\nHighly Commended: $1\,500\nPeople’s Choice: $1\,000\nYoung Artist Award: $500 (Concurrently\, the Gallery will hold the the Young Artist Award for young artists aged 5 – 18 years.)\nJudge: The 2026 Goulburn Art Award will be judged by Rachel Kent\, CEO\, Bundanon. \nAbout Rachel Kent:\nRachel Kent has served as CEO of Bundanon since September 2021. Rachel is an experienced arts leader\, art historian and head curator with extensive experience working with international museums and cultural institutions. Prior to her appointment at Bundanon\, Rachel was the Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Australia and has presented exhibitions in Australia\, New Zealand\, Japan\, the USA\, and Canada\, including major solo presentations by Do Ho Suh\, Doug Aitken\, Cornelia Parker\, Yoko Ono and Grayson Perry. She speaks widely on the arts and culture\, including TEDx\, sits on editorial and advisory panels for industry and government\, is the author of multiple award-winning artist monographs\, and is an international juror for art awards in Asia and Europe.

DESCRIPTION:Exhibiting in Gallery 2 is Goulburn based painter Jonathan Throsby. With a painting practice defined by elaborate brushstrokes and energetic swathes of thick oil paints\, Throsby’s works feature all manner of abstracted landscapes and surrealist figures\, as well as immaculate beach scenes and mysterious shadows. SUMMARY:Goulburn Model Expo
DESCRIPTION:The Goulburn Model Expo has been organised by the Georges River Model Railway Club to be held at the Veolia Arena (Goulburn Recreation Area) in Goulburn. The Expo is being held to help promote the hobbies of model railways and plastic kit modelling\, helping foster healthy alternatives for the development of our young people. There will be over 70 trade stands and exhibitors across 2 halls at the Veolia Arena displaying model railway layouts and a myriad of plastic models on display. \nThese vendors will carry everything from basic starter sets for a new modeller\, modelling tools and paints\, through to highly detailed models and accessories for skilled modellers\, and all exhibitors are only too happy to answer any questions that you may have. There will also be a number of clinics where people can observe and learn how to use the modelling skills and methods being shown. There will also be a Community BBQ on offer over the weekend with all proceeds going directly to charity. \nA special heritage train\, The Southern Highlands Express\, has been organised to do a return journey on the Sunday from Central Station to the event and then back on that afternoon. \nEvent facilities have off and on-street parking\, disabled access and a ramp.
