In her words\, I am “…essentially a self taught artist with help along the way from YouTube and from encouraging people including the kind and generous Stavroros Papantoniou who unfortunately passed away in 2023.  The portraits in this exhibition are of my children and grand children with one exception\, the collection of portraits of Marty Sanders\, an extraordinarily talented local actor.  When you see his face\, you will understand the compulsion to paint him.  \nThe landscapes in this exhibition are inspired by the view out my front door.  Light and Shade and the beauty of the Goulburn Sky are part of the music of my life”.

SUMMARY:Goulburn Historic Waterworks 'Steaming Days'
DESCRIPTION:Step back in time to the 1880’s when Goulburn was one of the first regional centres to supply piped drinking water to its residents. The Goulburn Historic Waterworks has remained intact with a pumphouse and working steam beam engine. It is located in an idyllic setting on the banks of the Wollondilly River.  \nThis rare facility is the only complete\, steam-powered municipal water supply left in its original location in the Southern Hemisphere. The buildings and engines are of national significance and are now protected by a permanent conservation order. \nThe Institution of Mechanical Engineers are presenting the Engineering Heritage Award to the amazing staff and volunteers for all the ongoing work and care that goes into the operation of the magnificent Appleby Bros Beam Engine on show at the Goulburn Historic Waterworks. \nCome and witness the spectacle of these magnificent pieces of machinery in operation for the Steampunk Victoriana Fair 2023. \nTake a tour of the Pumphouse Museum and historic Waterworks. See the 130-year-old Appleby Beam Engine and Hick Hargreaves Corliss Valve Engine under steam.  \nBring your own for a picnic by the river and the children can play in the playground. \nEntry is by donation. \n*dates are subject to change\, please contact the Goulburn Historic Waterworks Museum in advance to confirm dates. \nProudly supported by Goulburn Mulwaree Council.

DESCRIPTION:Cystic Fibrosis Goulburn and District is a not for profit local charity and is again hosting their annual 65 Roses Charity Dinner. \nThe night will include a three-course dinner\, an auction and live entertainment from local band Leaving Reality\, with tickets available from Goulburn Workers.  \nCystic Fibrosis is the most common\, life-shortening genetic condition in Australia. A child with CF is born every four days\, and whilst medical research is improving – there is no cure. \nFor 50 years\, dedicated teams of volunteers have been providing financial assistance to local families affected by Cystic Fibrosis to help with ongoing treatment costs and equipment expenses.  \nEfforts of awareness continue to contribute to much-needed medical research to help reach their goal of “Zero Lives Affected By Cystic Fibrosis”.

We have placed a strong focus on ensuring that the demonstrations are age appropriate\, and that practical skills and knowledge will be able to be taken away from the event. \nFor those that don’t have access to a suitable Hereford animal\, there will be loan heifers available. Clubs will be attending the Goulburn Interclub from across NSW and the ACT with a range of competitors aged from four years to over 60. Plus\, a chance to dress up in the imaginative genre that combines Victorian elegance with steam-powered innovation\, and if you are game enter the highlight of the Fair\, the costume parade. \nThe Goulburn Historic Waterworks\, situated on the beautiful Wollondilly River\, hosts the annual Steampunk Goulburn\, seeing an influx of characters complementing the Waterworks’ architecture and aesthetic. The Victorian Georgian-style Pumphouse Museum will be open and steaming all day\, with experienced tour guides on hand to talk with you about the magnificent stationary steam engines\, the 1883 Appleby Beam Engine and the 1866 Hick Hargreaves Horizontal Engine. Both are operated by a wood-fired 1960 Spencer Hopwood Cross tube vertical boiler.
